Simply, I ate horribly. I did exercise, but I must have been asking a lot of the treadmill. Even my 5:30am canoe paddling in Hawaii couldn't battle the pizza, beer and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
I came back to the mainland deeply bummed out, tan, but bummed bummed bummed.
My mother has had great results following the South Beach Diet. Close to tears, I called my mother and asked for her guidance and assistance in teaching me the South Beach Diet.
Long story short - I did the diet. I followed the plan almost to the letter and am still following it today. I've reached my goal which I NEVER thought I would do. I've even dropped an extra pound below my goal. After many lettuce filled lunches and endless alcohol-free evenings, I've lost a total of 16 pounds which THRILLS me but totally amazes me that I ever had 16 pounds to lose.
I know I've annoyed a great many people with my constant weight updates, catch phrase, "I can't eat that - I'm on the South Beach Diet," and "Anyone want in on this broccoli?" and so do deeply apologize.
However,

Totally worth it!
Now, it's time for my sugar-free jello snack cup.
